Ruby Buckton is Ross’s youngest daughter. At 15 years old, she appears very free-spirited, but in reality wears a mask that hides her inner emotions. Like the other Bucktons, Ruby is grieving her mother's death, but unlike her sister, she took a more internal approach and bottled it up inside and trying to appear strong on the outside.
Ruby stayed back from the Bay a while and continued her stay in boarding school, until she began a romance with the young school gardener who sought to be the only person to see past her charade of trauma. After both were banned from the school, they opted to go to the Bay and try to restore the rift between her father and sister and unite the family.
Ruby is independent and doesn’t care what others think about her. She is inclined to keep to herself, especially when her sister and father are fighting, but she herself is quite opinionated about her passions. She just generally tends to be quite laid back and controlled. Her goal in life is simply to be happy and to be content in enjoying life’s simpler things and the people in it.
