Hi Everyone,

Well, Belle’s still fighting against that new development plan! She actually went to the council to try and look at old council files, but was told she has to put in a request to view them. Discouragingly enough to her, it also takes two weeks to even get a response back about a request. After she let Alf in on what the older councilman had told her last week, he realised the seriousness of the problem. Alf believed Belle and his former councilman friend about the toxic waste being dumped, and suggested that Belle go back to the council and talk directly to a man he knows and let him know he sent her there. She had no luck on her second attempt to look at the records either, though. Determined to take a look at the records, she waited until the man left the room and snuck in to search the files. To her confusion, all the records from the year the toxic waste was supposedly dumped were missing!! Tim, the foreman over at the development has noticed Belle still hanging around taking pictures at the site and warned Aden that his job’s over if he has any involvement with her and her inquiries.

Aden got a call from his father wanting to talk to him, but he refused to answer and talk. Larry went on to call Belle and ask her to have Aden come in to talk to him. She showed up at the development site to tell Aden of how his father called her. At first, Aden rejected any thought or idea of seeing his father. After Belle told him she’ll go there with him though, he went on to see his father. Larry apologised to Aden for everything and told him that he loved him. Aden became emotional and left the room suddenly. I guess he wanted to say he loved his father back, but couldn’t even get the words to leave his mouth. It’s got to be small steps for him though, and I think that visiting his father and hearing what he had to say was a small step in the right direction. Since Belle supported Aden with seeing his father, Aden agreed to go with Belle that night to the development site. But after they were spotted by a security guard while still in their car, Aden did what he had to do to protect Belle, and began kissing her. The guard fell for their act, but as they drove away, Aden questioned why Belle kissed back. She insisted she wasn’t and it was all to protect herself from trouble, but Aden knew that wasn’t the case. The next day, Aden pressed the issue again, and Belle kept insisting it was “too late” for anything between the two of them. Aden figured it out that Belle has been sleeping with Angelo and felt completely gutted. Belle’s got herself in quite the predicament it seems. Angelo still knows nothing about the kiss Aden and Belle shared, either.

Turns out there’s a little more going on at The Sands than just housekeeping! Kirsty told me that she was approached by a man for a date and her co-worker later let her in that a bunch of the girls work as escorts on the side. When asked if she’d like to try it out, she instinctly declined. I guess it’s good money though, and all the girls do is get dolled up and have some nice conversation for a night-no strings attached. I think Kirsty’s drawn to the money part of it, but feels like morally, she could never do something like that.

Christine approached Melody on the beach and informed her that she was no longer divorcing her father because families don’t divorce, they’re supposed to stay together. Mel was less than impressed by her low attempt to get Melody back, and after letting her mum know just how disgusting she thought she was, Christine laid a slap right across Melody’s face. Mel ran away crying, but Christine actually followed her and caught up to her in her car. The lady then went on to actually KIDNAP Mel…her own daughter!! Christine is absolutely crazy. Geoff actually saw the whole thing happen and tried to help Melody. He ran out in the road to get Christine to stop her car, but she actually drove right into Geoff, hitting him!! He got to the hospital to get checked out and everything was alright with him, but Melody was more than a little bit shaken up about everything that had happened. Christine was actually still convinced that she was working in Melody’s best interest and Miles had a go at her. He laid down the line about just how harmful her behaviour has been for Melody and it seemed like the guilt finally took root. Melody had a talk with her mum, and tells her she won’t divorce her, but she can’t live with her either.

Things seem to be back to normal between Jai, Annie, and Ruby. They finally all made up this week. Annie actually stopped by Rubs’ place to straighten things out and when she asked if Ruby wanted to go to the beach, Ruby was hesitant because she was supposed to be watching Ross. Ross flipped over the edge and said he’d rather be tied up like a dog and shot than be treated the way his daughters were treating him. Ruby, feeling incredibly hurt and confused, left to go with Annie. They ended up leaving the beach to go talk to Charlie about what had happened with Ross and Ruby dropped her diary. Matthew actually picked it up. He went to return it to her right then, and found their house filled with smoke! Ross had left a kettle on the hot plate, and was no where to be found. When Charlie and Ruby finally got home, Matthew had most everything under control with the incident. They were both extremely grateful that Matthew was there to help. Matthew ended up keeping Ruby’s diary and reading it to get a little insight in her life. He used some of the stuff she wrote about to try and get closer with Ruby.

Oh! And guess what? “Sky” is actually Matthew! Jai and Annie saw his conversation with Ruby on a computer at the Diner. Jai confronted him about it, but he denied anything of it. Annie went to tell Ruby about it all, but backed off after learning Ross was moving out. But when Matthew saw Ruby next, he assumed she already knew about it all, and ended up launching into an apology and gave himself away. Ruby was too shocked and hurt to even get mad at first. But I guess she was all smiles and flirty with Matthew the next day, and insisted she forgave him. I think that girl is up to something…

After the kettle incident, Ross was forced to accept what a burden he was being to his daughters. He decided the best thing he can do is to move away with Morag into some sort of assisted living arrangement. Charlie was pretty upset about his decision, but Ruby supported him from the beginning. I think Ross just wanted his daughters to remember him the way he was, and not have to see him go through his disease. Charlie did eventually open up and accept his decision as well, it just took her a little time to settle the thought in.

Bridget organised a big promotion party for the Bait Shop. She convinced Martha to go, against Rachel’s opinion she stay home. Then the oddest thing happened…Rach said that Bridget mentioned something about her ovarian cancer in the past, but didn’t Bridget have cervical cancer? Bridget just insisted that Rachel must have heard wrong the first time, but something’s definitely going on there if you ask me. Bridget dropped her wallet at one point, and all of these different ID’s fell out with her picture on it, and all different names. What is going on with this woman?

I think I’m going to keep a close eye on her this week…I just can’t help but feeling like something is strange! I’ll keep you all posted for next week.

With Love,

Leah
